Aparri, We Care distributes school supplies
APARRI, THE PHILIPPINES (JUN 8, 2011) — Representatives of Aparri, We Care distributed school supplies to about 1,600 students attending Aparri’s public schools. Each child received one backpack containing a notebook, pencils and a sharpener, a ruler, a writing tablet, crayons, one pair of sandals, a toothbrush and toothpaste.
Distribution was coordinated through the office of Mayor Ismael Tumaru and assisted by education superintendant Lily Padre. Ramon Flores and others representing Aparri, We Care, handed out the school supplies with the help of school teachers.
Aparri, We Care distributed similar back-to-school supplies to 1,000 Aparriano students in 2008.

Aparri, We Care to finance barangay-based revitalization project
NORTHERN NEW JERSEY (SEP 29, 2010) — The Aparri International Humanitarian Foundation (Aparri, We Care) is accepting grant proposals for projects aimed at improving livelihoods in individual barangay districts of Aparri.
One project will be selected to receive up to $5,000 based on its short- and long-term benefits, overall cost and the number of families affected. The selected project will be announced during the 2011 Aparri town fiesta.
Proposals must demonstrate a project’s sustainability and feasibility, as well as its benefit to barangay residents. An estimated budget, matching funds (if any) and contact information should be included. Click here for more information.

Raincoats distributed to Aparri primary schools

APARRI, CAGAYAN (OCT 27, 2009) — The Aparri International Humanitarian Foundation (Aparri, We Care) donated more than 1,000 raincoats to children in Aparri’s elementary schools.
Joselito Sevilla, a representative for Aparri We Care, delivered the raincoats to school superintendent Lily Padre, who will distribute the coats to first graders at several public schools.

Aparri, We Care offers typhoon relief to Cagayan

APARRI, CAGAYAN (OCT 27, 2009) — A donation from the Aparri International Humanitarian Foundation (Aparri, We Care) was used to feed victims of Typhoon Pepeng (Parma) in Aparri.
Joselito Sevilla, a representative for Aparri, We Care, delivered the donation to Mayor Ismael Tumaru. The funds were later spent on 60 canvas sacks of rice, which were distributed among Aparri’s typhoon victims.
The typhoon caused significant damage to buildings in Aparri earlier this month and contributed to greater hardship for less fortunate Aparrianos. Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) also made landfall in Luzon late last month and triggered severe flooding in Manila.
Aparri, We Care donates to typhoon relief in Manila

METRO MANILA (OCT 17, 2009) — The Aparri International Humanitarian Foundation (Aparri, We Care) donated $1,000 to help victims of Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana), which caused severe flooding and damage last month.
Ramon Flores, a representative for Aparri, We Care, delivered the funds to members of the Rotary Club of Paranaque during a health clinic serving typhoon victims. Aparri, We Care believed its donation to the Rotary Club would affect the greatest number of those in need.

Fundraiser held to benefit typhoon relief efforts

BERGENFIELD, NJ (OCT 10, 2009) — The Aparri International Humanitarian Foundation (Aparri, We Care) hosted a fundraising dinner event to benefit victims of recent typhoons in the Philippines.
More than 140 people attended the event, including representatives from the Philippines Independence Day Council. It was Aparri, We Care’s first benefit dance.
Proceeds of the event go to help victims of Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana), which triggered severe flooding in Manila last month, and victims of Typhoon Pepeng (Parma), which caused damage in Aparri earlier this month.

Aparri, We Care to offer vocational scholarships
NORTHERN NEW JERSEY (JAN 2, 2009) — The Aparri International Humanitarian Foundation (Aparri, We Care) is working with the office of Mayor Ismael Tumaru to offer individual scholarships for vocational programs in Aparri. The goal is to give Aparrianos the job skills that will allow them to support their families.
Courses last several months and lead to certificates in the following fields: tourism, health social services, construction and development, electronics, garment industry, automotive and land transportation, metals and engineering, heating and ventilation, refrigeration, and furniture and fixtures. Each course costs P1,640 ($34).
Scholarship recipients must be high school graduates and must demonstrate financial need. The number of recipients depends on how much funding the foundation can generate for this purpose.
Members of Aparri, We Care have raised $1,000 (P49,000) so far for this ongoing project. For more information or to make a donation, contact us.
Aparri mayor visits New Jersey

NORTHERN NEW JERSEY (AUG 1, 2008) — Members of Aparri, We Care entertained Dr Ismael Tumarum, mayor of Aparri, and his wife Shalimar during the couple’s trip to the United States. A dinner hosted by Elmer and Reling Romero was held in Hillsborough.
Also during their visit, Dr and Mrs Tumarum attended a barbecue in Piscataway hosted by Aparri, We Care members Edmund and Lety Agatep.
